Be a Helper

Last night I attended the baby naming of my great-niece at Temple Israel. Rabbi Bennett told us all to be “helpers” in his sermon. I will admit that I wish I could help every person that I know is in need, but I am only one person. At the conclusion of last night’s service my son, Andrew said,”Mom, you are a helper and I am so proud of you.” He brought tears to my eyes for his kind words and because earlier yesterday I bought a Kroger’s gift card and a lot of Legos’ sets for a mother and child in need…and wished that I could do so much more.
